研究調査活動の開始から11年－－
このたび、小津生誕60周年・没後120周年を記念して、
小津安二郎学会舎を設立することになりました。
ぜひ設計をお願いしたい、
という我々の思いに応えてくださったのは、
建築界のトップランナーであり
我々が最も信頼を寄せる建築家、中村拓志氏です。
海外のお客様にも訪れていただきたいこと、
東京、鎌倉、松阪、尾道など
小津研究の各拠点から程よい距離であることから、
京都での設立を決めました。
2023年末から2024年に完成予定、
一般への公開も構想しています。

Eleven years have passed since the start of the research activities－－
On this occasion, in commemoration of Ozu Yasujiro’s 120th birthday, 60 years after his death, we have decided to build The Ozu Yasujiro Institute.
The person who responded to our earnest request for designing this building is Nakamura Hiroshi, a cutting-edge figure in the world of architecture and the architect that we place the most trust in.
We have decided to build The Ozu Yasujiro Institute in Kyoto, as we want people from overseas to visit it as well, and because Kyoto is within comfortable distance of various Ozu research bases, such as Tokyo, Kamakura, Matsusaka and Onomichi.
Its completion is expected around the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024, and it is expected to be open to the general public. We hope everyone looks forward to it.
